Put on some music and have your cleaning supplies ready, since spring is the perfect time to declutter and thoroughly clean your home,
particularly one of the most often used spaces, the kitchen.

Give yourself a morning or afternoon to complete this easy checklist and you’ll have a sanitary and sparkling clean kitchen in no time!

Step 1: Cabinets and drawers

Remove everything from the room.

Sort into one of four categories: keep, give, recycle, or bin.

Wipe the interior and exterior of drawers/cabinets with a damp cloth.

Any worn-out drawer dividers or liners should be replaced.

Step 2: Stock the Pantry

Remove everything from the room.

Throw away any food that has gone beyond its expiration date.

Donate any food that hasn’t been opened.

Wipe down all the shelves and the outside of the building.

Any products that have been opened should be placed in airtight jars or containers.

Fill any jars that haven’t been filled yet.

Any new jars should be labelled.

Clean any organiser that you have.

Return objects to their proper places, within easy reach and neatly.

Step 3: Preheat the oven and the stove.

If possible, carefully remove the glass from the oven door and clean it.

Clean the outside of your oven as well as the doors.

Clean all of the knobs and grates.

To wipe down your extractor hood, clean it and remove the extraction grills.

Step 4: Countertops

Clear your work surfaces and sort, clean, and replace everything that needs to be replaced.

Wipe down worktop appliances like the toaster and microwave.

Any appliances that aren’t used too often should be stored.

The kettle or coffee maker should be descaled.

Clean fruit bowls, knife blocks, and other such items.

Remove all the food from the refrigerator and the freezer.

Step 7: Finishing the kitchen
